Growing in Faith — Together
Faith formation is a lifelong journey of growing in our relationship with Jesus Christ and deepening our understanding of the Catholic faith. At Sacred Heart and St. James the Greater, we are committed to helping people of all ages encounter Christ, learn the teachings of the Church, and live their faith more fully in their homes and communities.
Our Faith Formation ministries include opportunities for children, youth, adults, families,
and those preparing to receive the Sacraments, as well as adults interested in becoming Catholic through OCIA.
Children and Youth Formation helps young people encounter Jesus Christ, understand the Catholic faith, prepare for the sacraments, and learn to live as disciples in their homes, schools, and communities. Through age-appropriate instruction, prayer, service, and community life, children and teenagers grow in both their knowledge and practice of the faith.
Adult Formation provides opportunities for parishioners to deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith and grow in their relationship with Christ. Sessions may explore Scripture, Catholic teaching, spirituality, prayer, and other topics relevant to living as faithful disciples.

Whether you are looking for daily Scripture readings, Church teachings, answers to questions about the Catholic faith, spiritual reflections, podcasts, Bible studies, or faith-filled programming for your family, the resources below offer many opportunities to learn, pray, and grow closer to Christ.
We encourage you to explore these websites and discover the resources that best support your spiritual life. While online materials can never replace participation in the Mass, the Sacraments, and the life of the parish community, they can deepen our understanding of the faith and help us live as disciples of Jesus throughout the week.
Catechists
Catechists share the Catholic faith with the children and young people of our parish. Working with provided curriculum and resources, they create welcoming learning environments, lead prayer and discussion, and help students connect Church teaching with everyday life. Classroom aides and other volunteers are also needed, and formation and support are provided.
Evangelization Team
The Evangelization Team helps parishioners deepen their personal relationship with Jesus Christ and share the joy of the Gospel with others. The team provides formation, encouragement, and resources to individuals, families, and parish ministries while helping Sacred Heart become an increasingly welcoming and missionary community.
Cursillo
Cursillo is a Catholic movement that helps participants encounter Christ more deeply and live their faith more fully in everyday life. Its three-day retreat weekends combine prayer, talks, worship, fellowship, and reflection, followed by continuing support through small-group reunions and larger gatherings called Ultreyas.
